2015 So Far

The lack of recent posts on our website reflects the fact that we have been busy, really busy. It is a sellers market in Bath and Bristol and many of the Surveys we carry out are on properties which have received multiple offers and have sold within days. Clearly prices have risen strongly in the first half of 2015. This is reflected in all property market sectors and in all areas from small buy-to-let and first-time-buyer flats to larger family homes.

As with many in the Surveying profession, our diaries have been full for three and sometimes four weeks in advance and it is with some regret that we have been unable to provide as speedy a service as we would like. We have however made concerted efforts however to return all our Surveys to clients within five working days and to make contact by telehone on the same day as the inspection. To do a thorough job a Building Survey of 80 pages is a considerable piece of work and requires time to dictate, type, check and proof-read. Even with a Valuation we sometimes need a couple of days to consider, reflect and obtain comparable evidence before completing the Valuation report.  With the summer holidays fast approaching the levels of new instructions have fallen away slightly so we now have a lead time of around one week.
